Students On Set Hands-on Experience

The 2018-2019 Season marked the 27 years of existence since I created CENTRE STAGE in the early 1990’s and has fittingly been full of exciting moments for our students.

Students have had “hands-on” – and I really do mean “hands on” – experience working on location on five films as well as three short, but demanding, commercial films. The nine-month Complete Course was extended without any extra costs to students in order to accommodate this useful and necessary real-time work.

Thanks to the practical and theoretical work in the Studio, our students were not afraid to be thrown into the rigours of location filming and the film crews expressed their appreciation of the students’ professional approach.

2019-2020 Complete Media Makeup Course

The forthcoming 2019-2020 Season will see the start of the next CENTRE STAGE Complete Course on 1st October 2019 at the Studio at Blackboys, East Sussex. I very much hope that the good impression left by last year’s students will encourage further bookings for more location shoots.

I have already been approached to head up the make-up and hair department for a forthcoming feature film with some of my students, either past or present, on location in both England and Germany. However, much has still to be confirmed, including the film’s substantial budget to incorporate film crews in both countries. So, watch this space …

Short Makeup Courses

CENTRE STAGE is also able to offer shorter courses on request and which can be built around individual requirements.

For those contemplating a career as a professional MUA, please do not hesitate to visit our website – www.mediamakeupandhair.co.uk  Potential students are more than welcome to contact me on 07803 179292 to have an informal chat and find out more or to arrange a visit to the Studio.

Ongoing Support

I am also available should any existing MUA’s wish for an independent opinion and an informal discussion to resolve a particular professional make-up or hair problem. Life as an MUA is as demanding as it is exciting, with new opportunities and new methods. One cannot “know it all” but we can all learn from each other.

My thanks extend to all who have taken the trouble to take the first step forward and visit our website.
Sincerely yours,
Judy Neame
